Flooded in the Fog

by GIULIO57

It was Sunday but I don’t remember which one of November 1989. Place: cloister inside La Verna Abbey, Italy(Tuscany close to Arezzo). Fog of that misty day flooded everywhere, everything, everybody. I saw this scene through an old and dirty wet glass when weak sunrays were able to reach and warm area around the well. PENTAX ME SUPER and PENTAX Zoom 40-80mm at 40. Hand-Held camera on monopod. Kodak Ekta slide chrome 100 ISO; F 4; Shutter Speed 1/30s. Skylight filter in front of the lens.EPSON Perfection 3200 scanner.

Well done, it has an aged look, i could just imagine a monk quietly strolling past the window, lovely framing too

Fog often seems to reduce all sound. You can almost "hear" the quietness it caused in this already tranquil place.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Um, yes, well... I'd love to come back to Italy, Giulio but I have to admit to using Google Translate here...
Best wishes,

Andrew

That's a lovely shot Giulio! Isn't it fun to use an ME Super!
Every year I run a photo competition at my, now former, place of work and this year's subject is "Windows/Doors". If one of my photos is selected among the winners I remove my name as it would be unfair to claim a prize from my own competition! However, this is the kind of shot I am looking for this year.
