Singapore Botanic Garden


A 158 year old landscape located right in the middle of the main shopping area of Singapore. It is the only tropical garden that has the UNESCO World Heritage site tag to it. The garden has several accolades and has also been declared ‘Garden of the year 2012’. Founded in 1859 by the then Agri-Horticultural Society. It is the only garden in the world that is open from 5:00 am to 12:00 am 365 days of the year. Spanning across 83 hectares of land and over 11000 species of Flora and Fauna the Botanic Garden boasts about 5.4 million tourists annually. Visiting the Garden is completely free. The garden is surrounded by Holland Road, Cluny Road and Bukit Timah Road. The most signature attraction of the Botanic Garden is the National Orchid Garden. However, it has an entry fee. The Garden also features a tropical rain forest spread across 6 hectares of land. Just beside the National Orchid Garden is the famous Ginger Garden.
