Time & Imagination

by Fletcher8

Finally found some time this morning to have a go at lighting some other objects instead of bottles. I have been wanting to light this pocket watch for a while. The first thing I learned was that lighting from directly above worked out and the tracing paper would be the one resource the A Team would use if they did any photography. Still lots to learn but really pleased with the result. C&C welcome.

I have no experience of this type of photography, I would say this is well lit though. The playful side of me would have been tempted to try and interact the lighting with its functionality as an article, so directing the lighting from the side of the cover and through the portal (?). It would be fun to see a version of that if you feel inclined! - nice shot.

Thanks Ian. My pocket watch is just an Ebay one I purchased for photography as it looked nice, it works too. I am just learning to light products in case I am ever offered any work in this area. Is your pocket watch still working?

You have a good and broad selection of work, really like to Coke Can

It looks great to me, I think the lighting is just about spot on and shows the watch off very well.

Cheers

Thanks Nezih. I spent a fair amount of time trying to get the lighting right, its not perfect but I am getting there.

Stephen, I will give your playful idea a try sometime, it might be interesting.

Absolutely beautiful, but the logo bottom left keeps dragging me away from the subject!
