Middle England

Photo Information
This scene is so typical of many English Villages. The ancient Mill Pond, populated by ducks and gulls in the winter, lined with trees and surrounded by the houses and cottages that formed the heart of the old village.

This one is at Tickhill in South Yorkshire but it could be almost anywhere in England. The Mill Pond here is adjacent to the remnants of the Norman Castle and a short distance from the fine Church. If you're in the area, Tickhill is worth a visit.

K-x, DA L 18-55mm, Polariser. Pseudo HDR from 5 exposure-adjusted originals.

I'm not very good at painters (apart from my mate Rab, who's a dab hand with emulsion and a roller, even when totally drunk!! ), but this looks less of a photo, and more of an oil painting. One for the Ilford Galeria specialist papers, I think!! Great photo!!

Thanks Steven, I thought when I first looked at this shot after taking it that it was a bit like an old painting. I'm glad you think the same!

I agree. Its a gorgeous scene. Feel that it is perhaps sloping ever so slightly down to the right. Might be an optical illusion though as the trees aren't vertical

It is typical but very beautiful! Reminds me of John Constable. Well done, David!

If Constable had had a K-x his photos would probably have looked like this! Nice one.
