Photo Information
“Magical places are always beautiful and deserve to be contemplated ... Always stay on the bridge between the invisible and the visible.” (Paulo Coelho)

Transient sunlight dapples the riverbanks in places, as the slowly drifting waters of the River Tavy pass beneath Denham Bridge on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Denham Bridge is an old packhorse bridge near Buckland Monachorum.

It is a Grade II listed building. A bridge existed on this site in medieval times but the present structure probably dates to the 17th Century, although considerably repaired in 19th Century.

The deep pool below the bridge is a popular wild-swimming location.

Thank you very much Larry for your encouraging comments

Have wanted to photograph there for a long time now and luckily happened to pass that way yesterday for other reasons, that's why I always carry a camera!

Many's the time I've passed over this bridge. You've captured the magical feeling of a peaceful stretch of water perfectly.
