Nice composition, David, and certainly conveys the atmosphere of The Lakes at this time of year.
(I hope you are not getting too wet, but at least that doesn't worry a Pentax !)

Hi Peter, thanks for the comment, today wasn't too bad considering what it was like yesterday! Just steady drizzle with the odd heavy burst and a few drier interludes! I actually like weather like this for photography, it's just difficult keeping water droplets off the lens / filter, apart from that I think it often adds something.

Wow, you have a good memory Andy! In this case they couldn't be avoided if I wanted to take a shot of the building and I do think they complete the framing at the top! Generally speaking though, I do try to avoid them

Wonderful detail in the brickwork and a great find, have you thought of cropping the top off just below the movement in the leaves, leaving the large branch on the right and maybe taking a little from the left, just tried it, hope you don't mind! and it looks very nice and puts more emphasis on the building but still framed nicely, you may not agree though!

Great detail and spot on composition, and the wind in the leaves blurs it just right for me!

Hi Maria, I hadn't thought of cropping it, but I think your suggestion works well, it's one of those shots which would probably look OK with various levels of cropping to the top or left side. The only thing is i like the movement in the leaves!

I like the withered old branches, they are part of the scene and add to the 'feel' of the area.
