Beaumaris Fishers

Photo Information
This is the pier at Beaumaris, Anglesey. The adults and children were very intent on their fishing. Photo using Pentax Kr and 18-55mm DA-AL kit lens. Exposure tweaks and B&W conversion in Photomatix.

Beautiful picture John. I like landscapes taken with the kit lens - it seem to render them very well. Great processing on this one too.

An excellently composed, framed and converted shot, great POV and linear perspective.

The HDR hallows are little too harsh though IMHO

Hmmm. I tend to be a bit heavy handed with the contrast and clarify in my rush to take a bland colour photo into a more interesting and striking colour space. In fairness, I think that the "HDR hallows" above the pier are about 80% natural cloud front, but you have a point about the bleaching of the front post and the under pier lightening. I will try to be a bit more restrained in future.

Like this one. A favourite spot of ours, too (when it's too wet in the mountains!)
Best wishes,
