Great simplicity... there’s also a rather nice echo of the egret’s feathers in the foliage on the bank...

Thanks your very much Bill for your kind and considered comments I think they must be one of my favourite creatures as I am sure I have photographed more of them than any other species!

Nice one - your choice of square crop and positioning of egret within that frame is spot on IMO!

Many thanks for your kind and considered words Andy I am very fond of the simplicity of square formats, often with wildlife they are my aim when I am visualising the image. They can help focus the narrative we want to say about a moment, without drifting off to visual things that don't add anything to a story.

Many thanks Paul whilst saving up for a long time for a 50-500mm I was not short of visualisations of what I might be able to achieve It's an awesome lens and has opened a whole new chapter of possibilities for wildlife and landscape compositions for me
