Tamron 2x on Tamron 90mm Macro

Put my Tamron 90mm Macro on my new Tamron2x converter.
I like the up-close images with almost no depth of field. This seems to get me pretty close.
This is am image of the tip of a mechanical pencil. I backed of the focus a bit to show how shallow it is. DOF looks about the same on both lenses. Is that expected with tele-converters?
Both images appear pretty sharp.
So far,other than losing auto focus on my SDM lenses, I'm pretty happy with it.
Hopefully obvious, but Left side, without 2x TC. Right side with TC.
