The Three Ships

These weathered Gritstone Rock formations are on top of Birchen Edge Derbyshire, and are close to Nelson's Monument. They are known as the three ships after their names carved into them. From left to right respectively they are "Victory", "Defiance" and "Royal Soverin"(sic).

The composition works well for this picture I like the foreground interest with the grasses and the grimness of the rocks. The moody sky radiating from behind the rocks really makes the photo.

Wonderful contrast between the stones and sky. Real dynamism here.
