Rocky Shore

Photo Information
A 6 second exposure ... and sliding down the slippery rocks and nearly ending up in the drink ... with a 6.66 stop ND filter, got this shot. Still, buttocks and camera survived and I was rather more careful going back up. Bossiney Bay, Cornwall.
This is also the top right picture of my forthcoming LRPS panel, I thought the strong right hand edge finished off the row quite nicely.

It should be f/7.1 ... something went askew there I reckon ....

I think this is a really great composition. The cliffs on the right are very strong and force the eye to track down to the distance.

However, I'm not at all sure about the choice of aperture or the focus point and I think this image could have been an absolute stunner if these were tweaked slightly. I do understand that the lack of distant focus may well be intentional, but for me it doesn't quite hit the spot.

Sorry if this appears harsh, but I can only say what I see / feel and hope you don't think this is negative at all.

Best wishes

To my eyes I think David and Senn may be right - though I fully understand if you don't want to risk camera and buttocks to re-shoot it . My first thought was that it had a bit of a tilt/shift (lens baby?) look, which may be intentional. It still has great composition and rich colours, and I do like it.

Constructive criticism is always welcome!
Well the focal point thing was an experiment ... here's the problem, in the original, the far distant point is a little soft, mainly because there was a small amount of moisture in the air, but it makes it a little distracting (if you don't know why), and the LRPS is significantly about technique. Also the area of main interest is in the bottom third, now normally I would have cropped it, but I need this to be a full size portrait (it balances out the cathedral shot - a couple back in my gallery), so I tried making the softness more extreme .... I guess it doesn't work.
ah well, can't win 'em all!
