Steam and Sky
by pgweber
It is pictured here departing Newark on the return journey having stopped for water.
The evening sunlight gave rise to the glint along the train. If I ever get the hang of Elements I will learn how to correct highlights such as this and bring up the exhaust against a brooding sky.
The train speed was low so that helped and when I processed in Silkypix, I used Exaggerate Sharp (i.e. Maximum sharpening).
This is a bit of a crop from a 38mm shot on my 16-45. I am very pleased with the sharpness from my FA50 so I wonder what that lens would have managed?

Thanks for your comments John, on this and my previous pic of the Duchess.

I'm not a Silkypix user so not familiar with Exaggerate sharp, however the 16-45 seems to have it covered nicely. My preferred lens is the DA 17-70 and has been for some time due to the extra reach when required, I've had some nice results with the FA-35 though.
