Statue,Pier Head Liverpool.

I've forgotten the name of this sea captain. His statue is on the sea front at Liverpool Pierhead.

I took a few of this statue not from this angle though it works well nicely done

It's a sculpture of Captain J. Walker R.N. He was the leader of a flotilla of escort ships, corvettes, sloops, frigates and destroyers operating out of Liverpool in the Western Approaches during Wolrd War II. His escort group was very successful in overcoming the U-boat menace in the and protecting Atlantic convoys.

He's a hero of mine partly because my father served on frigates and corvettes during the war.

Nicely done. The statue almost looks alive from this angle.
