Springtime in the Med!

Normally I take a lot of care with dynamic range in images, to make sure the levels are right. In this one I could quite easily have let the 'Auto Contrast' setting in Photoshop take the darks down and the whites up, but this would have ruined the feel of the shot and made it not representative of the actual conditions on the day. So, in this one the levels are biased towards the middle of the spectrum, with low contrast. I hope it gives a feel for the very un-Springlike weather and the spray being blown from a turbulent sea. It was shot in Barcelona on 21st March this year.
This one looks much better viewed large to appreciate the distant detail, which is all there despite the weather conditions, which were quite strange at this time with some light coming from the left where the cloud cover was a bit thinner, but with very dark skies in the distance beyond the hotel. This made the sea and mist glow eerily.

Yes, we've "enjoyed" some dodgy weather in the Med. at Easter David. This certainly shows off the atmospherics.

Betcha' happy to shoot with sealed IIs, The anchor is the subtle complimentaries esp. tan and gray-blues. Would love to see it in a square crop.
