Retreat

by morpheus71

“It is a strange thing how little in general people know about the sky. It is the part of all creation in which nature has done more for the sake of pleasing man, more, for the sole and evident purpose of talking to him and teaching him, than in any other of her works, and it is just the part in which we least attend to her… there is not a moment of any day of our lives, when nature is not producing scene after scene, picture after picture, glory after glory, and working still upon such exquisite and constant principles of the most perfect beauty, that it is quite certain it is all done for us, and intended for our perpetual pleasure. And every man, wherever placed, however far from other sources of interest or of beauty, has this doing for him constantly… the sky is for all…”

I love fields like this - pleasing to the eye, and the lighting is just right

Many thanks for your enthusiasm and generous comments Andy😊 This field is, in my mind, an equivalent of one of James Turrel's 'sky spaces' - a wonderful stage from which to observe theatre of the sky😊

First came across Turrel's sky space at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in a BBC documentary called Forest, Field and Sky by Dr James Fox, all about land art. Worth seeing if it is on YouTube as it is very thought provoking and fascinating 😊

Many thanks for your kind words 😊 I was in a moment of distillation and subtraction when I got the idea for this.
