in all its moods...

“I have seen the sea when it is stormy and wild; when it is quiet and serene; when it is dark and moody. And in all its moods, I see myself.”

Needs to be viewed large, it has everything, depth, colour, darkness and light. This is a beautiful capture, a piece of art.

With more patience, practice and learning, I hope one day I will be able to take beautiful photos like this.

Thank you ever so much for all the encouraging comments - I photographed this back in January but was a bit hesitant for uploading it after my 'Aeon Flux' panorama (one I feel is my best work so far/ a rather jolly and serene setting) with this being such a moody image... it has grown on me over the last few weeks and reading the accompanying prose made me realise it is okay to enjoy doing some dark and moody photography

I knew from the thumbnail it was your work, this is a work of art IMHO full of mood, atmosphere and feelings of transience.

Beautiful shot Phil, what I particularly like are the splashes of colour that I wouldn't normally expect in a seascape like this.
