Jetty and Stars

by bjolester

Pentax 67ii + SMC 45mm f4 + Kodak Porta 400

This is a 10 min exposure.

The aim was to check how well the Porta 400 film responded to longish exposures. Finding the correct colour balance, in scanning and PP, was a bit more demanding then with "normal" exposures. But overall I am quite happy with the performance of the Porta 400. I hope to do some startrails when we (if we) get clear skies.

I never thought stars would be visible daytime. You've rocked my senses. Great photograph demanding perseverence of stated techniques. POV is fabulous and that jetty. Very unusual build. Also love the simplicity of inclusion of the vehicle light trails and town lights to amplify/mirror the starlight theme.

Even better viewed large, not sure about the star trails as to me they distract from the clouds.

Great stuff... exposures this long with film are mighty tricky, and you've nailed it here...
