Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
This is our Tibetan Terrier Daisy, asleep on her bed in our hallway this evening, shot with a 40 year old lens that cost me £20, 8 second exposure on a tripod.
K-3, Tamron Adapt-a-matic 300mm F5.6
You have a K3!!? How does it feel?
Love the contrasting textures.
It is great Carl, I am finding so many benefits I didn't even consider before I bought it:
- It is great with old MF lenses - the focus confirmation in the viewfinder is much more accurate than any previous Pentax body I've owned, even in near darkness
- The White Balance and metering are excellent - it avoids blown out highlights much better than a K-5
- Focus Peaking on the rear LCD is excellent
- It is very fast
- I can record RAW and JPEG onto separate SD Cards - WOW!
- Detail levels are quite staggering, even comparing it to a K-5iis
All in all, it is a superb camera.

I only wish I had hung on. Congratulations on your supper new K3.
Regards John.
A cracking shot and there are some super old lenses out there. I got rid of mine along with my Pentax K1000 when the digital age started.

Thank you very much John. Why not buy some more old lenses? There are plenty of good ones out there!

Yup - buy some favorites back with converter rings. Then you could try for shots as good as this one.
