The Wastes of Industry

Disused slate quarry above Llanberis.
I needed the RAW file to extract highlight detail from the clouds.

I like the sense of scale this shot portrays, epic springs to mind, compositionally superb as we have come to expect

Powerful, technically adept & evocative image, as usual, Andrew.

All those rooves (roofs?) have a lot to answer for!
Presumably China, where I understand "our" slate comes from now, is undergoing the same (photogenic!) fate?

Best regards,

Roger.
The more I look, the more there is to see!

Lovely shot, I'm going near Llanberis for a weekend in November, I must try and do some landscapes.

I can't understand how it's cheaper to transport slate from around the world when there's so much on our doorstep.

I look forward to seeing the results.
Best wishes,
