I love the atmosphere and the stillness of this picture Andrew, it so suits the remains of the old building.
Kind regards Maria

Beautiful colour range under dramatic sky! I like the pinky hue on the slabs most.

Another lovely image, Andrew.
The contrast between the theatening sky & the range of warm colours on the ground & in the building is really startling!

Tell me, how do you do that "soft" border?

Thanks for letting us see.

Thanks folks. Timing was everything here: waiting for the sun to light the building and the foreground.

In the earliest of all Photoshop CS versions... use the rectangular marquee tool (feather 50) to draw a thin border round the picture, select inverse, then either image - adjustments - levels or curves and darken to suit. Then I just add a tiny black border.

I may overdo this technique... but a friend who went on a course told me that a slightly dark edge focused the viewer's attention of the scene and light areas near the edge should be avoided at all costs. Don't know!
Best wishes,

Andrew
