Comet C2011 L4 PanSTARRS & Andromeda Galaxy from Cheviot Hills

Comet C/2011 L4 PanSTARRS from the Cheviot Hills near Jedburgh on 3rd April 2013.

The close encounter of Comet PanSTARRS to the Andromeda Galaxy is purely a line of sight effect, the comet is relatively close to Earth within our Solar System while the Andromeda Galaxy lies some 2.5 million light-years beyond.

Absolutely fantastic. I doff my cap to you sir because that is a cracking image. You skies must be a lot lot better than ours here where we observe in the New Forest. I took a few dozens images but all were destroyed by the light pollution.
