That's really one to be proud of. It should have valances in that livery but no surprise he's left it all on view !
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Many thanks to you all for the comments.

It was a great afternoon with around 8 locos in steam, running on 2 circuits.

Wild Swan was probably the 'star' of the show and was said to be worth in excess of £50k !
And you're right David, it would have been a shame to hide all that lovely drive mechanism.
In any case, to me the Gresley A4's were the best looking locos ever made !
And there is an old engineering expression "If it looks right, it IS right !"

What an enjoyable image. And that's a fine model of an A4, doesn't it look good in its original LNER blue livery with red wheels.
