Creepy Climber

Photo Information
Tree Creeper (Certhia familiaris) photographed in a patch of surviving woodland adjacent to the ford over the River Kennet in Ramsbury, Wilts.

I have often seen these shy birds at this site, but usually only momentarily and from a distance. This particular specimen, however, spotted me shivering in the cold with my camera and monopod, frozen shutter finger poised, took pity and decided to indulge me by landing on the trunk of a tree at head height directly in front of where I huddled at a distance of approximately 5m.

I wish my local ones would be so courteous. Superb capture!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
