OK, this one's not 100% sharply focussed, but it was a grab shot and I quite like it. Taken at Clumber Park with the K-5 and Sigma 50-500.

It's a quite good portrait David IMHO. I don't feel any problem with the focus. My only criticism is that you should crop the left hand side of the picture.

I thought you might say that Gabor, it was in my mind when I uploaded the image! I'm not too worried about it on this picture as it is only a 'snapshot'.

In such case I used to cover the subject with my hand and I look at the rest how that looks. If that part is irrelevant then I crop that. Before the crop I make reversed check by covering the part for crop.
I hope my comments on this shot didn't hurt you.
