Steaming through the Forest

by Stridey

LNER Thompson Class B1 No. 61306 "Mayflower" captured yesterday at Deerleep Crossing in the New Forest. She was hauling the Dorset Coast Express from Waterloo to Weymouth. An unusual visitor to the South Coast with the scheduled loco unavailable.

The B1s were among my favourite class of locos. This looks good in LNER green, among the trees of the New Forest.

Caught in a lovely bit of sunshine. Very nice.
Best wishes,

That's a delightful shot! Just a pity the loco wasn't working hard!
