Scots Guardsman at Birkett Common

Photo Information
This is my favourite steam engine photo from my long weekend away.

Ex LMS No. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' is shown on the return trip from Carlisle to York on 29th July, passing the popular Settle-Carlisle location at Birkett Common. The Eden Valley is seen in the distance.

Now, that is an absolute beauty however, there is an element missing, which I can't quite put my finger on! A tad more saturation perhaps?

Thank you John & Paul for looking in and enjoying this offering.

I wondered if anyone would comment on the tonal recession. I shall have another try with PSE10 for my own satisfaction.

...and well hidden too, Cliff.

I have cycled past the footpath that leads here several times, but I did my research before this latest trip.

Northern Trains have even found this spot for one of their publicity pictures for the Settle-Carlisle line.
