Sheffield Skyline

Photo Information
Inspired by AndrewA's early morning shot from the South West of the city a few weeks ago, I took a walk out to a high point on the North side (Wincobank Hill). It was late morning so the sun was still far enough in the east to illuminate the city centre.

Sheffielders (born or adopted) might recognise some of the following:

From left to right: St Pauls Tower, The Lyceum, The Winter Gardens, The White Building, Victoria Hall, Walsh’s, The Old Courthouse, Castle House, Cathedral Church (RC) of St Marie, Town Hall, The Grosvenor House Hotel and the Telegraph & Star Building.

It was the first time I had been back here with the K5 and the 55-300. I was well pleased with some of the cropped results I obtained.

This is a familiar scene to me Peter, being an adopted citizen of Sheffield (originally from Conisbrough but now living in Sheffield).

I think it shows off the detail the 55-300 is capable of, considering it is a crop; it's just a shame it was so hazy on the day you took it.

I think Peter, that with a bit more contrast and sharpening this could be quite a different photo.
