Barnetby Semaphores

In December this year, as part of the North Lincolnshire Re-signalling scheme, all the old manual signal boxes and signals in this area will be swept away in the name of progress. Imagine this scene without this apparatus, it would look nondescript by comparison. For the record the locomotive is 60 001 and the train is 6M00 Humber - Kingsbury oil tankers on 21st April 2015. From January 2016 the replacement colour light signals will all be controlled from York power box, one of only six "signal boxes" in the whole country. Now, I wonder what would happen if there was a lightning strike in York.......
