David, I like them both very much but I think this colour version has the slight edge.

I love my B+Ws, but the colour version here takes it easily IMO. There's great graduations and contrasts in those delicate shades, that also brings out the lighting and seemingly more detail.

I like your experiment. I prefer this one, but I always do prefer the texture of these type of shot and it works well here. The soft shades are beautiful.

I think I like the colour version better, the B&W has too little detail in the sky which gives it less mood and impact, I think the B&W would be a killer with a more dramatic sky
