I've just finished after a few days with the book 'In Focus: National Geographic Greatest Portraits'. Culturally and Globally, such iconic treasures exist with skin embellishment in one form or another. Paint/Metal/Beads/Bones/Ink tattoos. It is beautiful and enhancing. It is also warlike and terrifying. 'Natural' is not always the right route. There is nothing wrong with Jazzie's statement and individuality. It's her right to choose. Rock on I say.

The framing of her face with the rich red hair is the strength of this superb portrait image. As to the iron on Jazzies face, my daughter was considering a tattoo and asked my opinion - "Your the smartest woman I know that still considers tattooing your natural body." Worked for 15 years until she met a guy that talked her into a small, hidden tat. I'll post an image of her soon.- no tat in the image. -- Tony

Thank.you all for the great comments she is a wonderful girl and she told me last week she doesn't like the piercings now at least the ear stretcher as healed now I'm sure she will take these metal bits out soon. It doesn't make her a different person now as most young ones have piercing of some sort. When I was born in the early 1950s a christening gift was to pierce my ears at 1 month old. So nothing is new.
