Yes, a cracking shot.

There was I thinking it was a hole bored by a photographer to stuff with food to attract pretty birds! Shows what little I know.

Great shot Neil! I will have to pay another visit to Oldmoor now the weather is improving.

I think the hole is definitely man-made, a Woodpecker would not choose a small tree like this.

David is right it is man made the holes are drilled in the tree post
And filled with fat balls to attract the woodpeckers as they are
