Early Blossom

Taken yesterday on a walk in our local nature reserve, Rother Valley Country Park. I'm unsure what tree this blossom was on, it's still very early for flowering trees. It's not Hawthorn, the bark was smooth and there were no spikes, so any suggestions for what species would be nice.
