You know me better than that Shaun!! 500 was set on purpose for 2 reasons:
1. I was testing the IIs at higher ISO's
2. I was shooting at 500mm hand held from a distance of over 100 yards with a heavy lens so I had to keep the shutter speed high!

Not used it very much yet Shaun, I want to do some macro with it because I think that type of shot will suit it best.

I've been finding the TAV setting quite useful on my K-30 with the Sigma 150-500, especially in rapidly changing light. I can never quite bring myself to put the ISO up as high as is really required sometimes so I have let the camera force me into it and have been pleasantly surprised.
