The Isola Tiberina is a little island which divides the Tiber into two branches. This is one of the little bridges which leads to it.

I can see what you were trying to do. I'm pretty inexperienced at photography, so I see it like it is. I can see this technique working in a "very few" occasions. For me, I don't think it works very well here as the branches are so strong and the background is relatively weaker. Perhaps there is not so much balance?
