All shots used are from a recent trip to Ephesus where we were lucky to come across a small re-enactment. The guy in the foreground had a real photogenic quality and reminded me of the Oliver Reed character in Gladiator - hence the title.

A good composition at the taking stage, which tells a story.
The post processing treatments give it an ancient painterly effect.
It works well.
