Dirt Road

Photo Information
This is the road (located on the right hand side of a brook) that leads to the old mill after two kms, but it goes further down. The brook is one of the feeders of Manavgat Waterfalls which is located 45 kilometers away towards the sea in the south.
The height at this point is approximately 600 meters.

Is this up near the Olympinar reservoir, Nezih? I love the mountains and pine trees. Not what people think of as a typical Turkish scene, but it really is. Thank you for that reminder. It looks cool and fragrant.
Best wishes,

Thank you folks for the appreciation!
David, this location is nearby the village called Murtiçi, it is on the highway from Konya to (Manavgat Antalya. It is a hidden place not known by many.

Well, funnily enough, Nezih, one of my best friends in Turkey is from Manavgat and I have been along that road many times.I remember when the main road went through Akseki and it was a long bus journey to Konya.I want to do some walking in that area of the Taurus one day soon.My favourite place around there is Selge where Alexander the Great crossed the Taurus range.I also know some great ice-cream sellers at the waterfalls in Manavgat, one of whom is a primary school teacher from Maraş, 'out of season'.

Best wishes,
David W

David, the road construction had already been finished. Now it bypasses Akseki and the journey does not take that long anymore. If you ask someone in Murtiçi for Değirmen he would show you the direction. When you're here let me know, may be I can join you, if I am free.
By the way, I like ice-cream a lot!

Nezih

Thanks Nezih, I still think we could run a Pentax User photo tour of Turkey if we put our minds to it. My Manavgat friend, Emel, works for Tui, the tour company!
Best wishes

Why not! A nice idea from many aspects. Let Emel know about it, she might come up with a suitable proposal.

Nezih
