Forgotten Abbey

Photo Information
This is a normal (non infra-red) version of a shot taken at Roche Abbey, near Maltby in South Yorkshire. Thanks to King Henry VIII England has been robbed of many beautiful architectural masterpieces that were the great Cistercian Abbeys, but I suppose the ruins of what is left are just as striking in their own way.

No need for 'sorry' Larry, all photos are personal choice as to whether you like them or not! I'm always amazed by the different responses that photos get when people post them on here and I find it impossible to know what will be liked or not liked!

Thanks for commenting on my pics.

Much prefer this one actually, mainly as the tower on the left is fully presented, the lighting also gives it some 'punch'.

Well spotted Sean - the missing part of the left tower was a major mistake on the IR shot - I'm surprised no-one said anything before. When I fitted the IR filter I must have moved the camera slightly without noticing (I couldn't see through the filter) and by the time I spotted this it was too late! I kicked myself when I got home. I need to return to the same spot to re-shoot the IR one, but the conditions will not be the same on another day.
