Another image that shows the hunting technique of a chameleon. This is not even the biggest distance they can reach with the tongue. Even in this early stage of snapping the insect, the eyes are already protected

Fantastic. Both predator and prey, probably my favourite so far (along with the tail shot).

It has been a great series Axel. Presumably the tongue reaches the grasshopper, and beyond?

Yes he reached it - and honestly - it felt like he did it without any real effort.I will post one more pic tomorrow abut this series, showing the maximung range we tried - it is still much further away.These little reptiles are remarkable - the successrate is amazing and the speed is "breathtaking"
