Running late

Photo Information
6233 was almost an hour behind schedule with the 'Cumbrian Mountain Express' this morning. She is seen here thundering through Eccleston Park trying to make up lost time.

At my age jack, I would probably do myself some serious damage. Nice to here from you again Jack.

Well caught Cliff. The train is pinsharp but the foliage and rails seem blurred - did you zoom during exposure to create a pan effect? However you did it this is most effective. I'm glad I wasn't stuck somewhere out in the wilds of the Settle and Carlisle Railway waiting for this if it was over an hour late.

Hi David, Just straight forward panning, no time for messing about zooming as she was moving quite a bit. The shutter speed was 1/180 sec for the shot (god knows why the exif data says 1111/200000 sec!) and because of poor lightI had to use an ISO of 800 to get that.

Thanks for you comment David.
Cliff.

Good viewpoint and perspective on a fine engine.

Are you kidding us though? I did not know that panning was effective when so "head-on".

I thought it looked like a "selective blurring" in PSE or the like.
