Night Of The SAAB

Photo Information
I had a press pass for the RAC Rally 2013, so I thought I would post a few images taken with the K3 with some flash.

The SABB Historic Rally Team tackling the Peregrine Print Night Rally in Dalby Forest on a cold November night. SAAB driven by Jim Valentine and Jonathan Lodge, Spadedam Motor Club.

Good to meet you on Pundershaw. Love the flash quality you are achieving. What is the diffuser you had on the flash?

Hi Brian

Good to meet you too, wish we could have talked for longer than we did, but photo's had to be taken. Lol. Did you get any images at Pundershaw that you are proud of?

I used bounce flash for the night rally stages, which worked very well in Dalby Forest. Direct flash in my opinion is just to harsh and I doubt the drivers like it.

This was mine and Frans first time photographing rally cars at night and trying this technique, so it was a lot of trial and error. Learned a great deal from the experience and am now working on a ultra portable bounce panel for when we get another shot at this type of photography.

Hope our paths cross again, so we can talk Pentax.
