Elizabethan Explorer

Photo Information
Ex LMS No. 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' is seen here on the final steam leg of an 8 day UK Tour called 'The Cathedrals Explorer'. Her journey started at Hellifield and ends at London Victoria.

The location is Trowell Junction on the North West outskirts of Nottingham.

The one disappointing thing on such a fine day was the lack of exhaust, but as I estimate she was travelling in excess of 60mph, she would not be having to work too hard to maintain speed.

A lovely image of a very fine locomotive Peter, she appears to be running as well as ever.

That's seems a great location for train photography Peter, no overhead wires. I love that red, brought out to perfection but some long overedue sunshine.
