The last Poppy

by autumnlight

My thinking behind this was the Poppy fading and dying, the Bee still healthy and thriving for now.

Nice shot, nice idea!
By the way, it's not a bee, but a fly (some kind of flower
or blossom fly; I don't know their English names).

Cheers!

Hi Maria, another beautiful image, but I'm afraid Jokke is correct, it's a Bee Fly, definitely not a Bee.

Flies have short antennae and one pair of wings.
Bees have longer antennae and two sets of wings.

Judging by your lovely picture Maria the wings look to be those of a fly - can't tell you which one without seeing the original image though I'm afraid. Not that it really matters as far as your photo is concerned.

Thanks so much for the info Charlotte and for your comment, so what i have been calling Bees all these years have actually been flies
