Stanage Pole

Stanage Pole is a landmark on Hallam Moors close to Stanage Edge on the Sheffield / Peak District Border.
A pole has existed on the site since at least 1550 and is a way marker on a medieval packhorse road known as the Long Causeway or Long Causey which runs west from Sheffield.
Taken handheld with the K3, DA* 16-50.

Original pole without a flag...usually in all border lines live flags...That pole is a sentry...very nice

Almost passed this but decided to view large, superb distant scenery.

I like this one Drew, in fact I prefer it to the ones on the Forum as the light seems more balanced.
