Afterglow at Billy's yard

Photo Information
Afterglow light adorns the skies above the historic Royal William Yard in Plymouth.

The site was designed by Sir John Rennie and was constructed between 1826 until 1835 and was a victualling depot for the Royal Navy. It was named in honour of Lord High Admiral King William IV.

When I saw those clouds as I left work, I though that location may work and dashed off down the road. Had a big grin as the afterglow hues built

Many thanks for your generous comments on this one David The high cloud fanning out above the chevron of the mid-right line of boats and the harbour wall seemed to make an appealing bow tie shape. Afterglow hues and that very process of a few minutes of colour evolution fascinates me. It was one of those rare moments when factors beyond one's control gel to become something bigger than the sum of the parts, it was fascinating to stand under that sky

Many Thanks Paul

I saw the delightful cloud shape as I left work in Plymouth recently and decided as it was near sunset to go and try my luck at this location for photographing the afterglow... so glad I did
