Day lit moons are impossible to capture good enough for reproduction - this a beautiful exception, top shelf - may tag this one to show my canikon friends - Technically superior - Tg

My first attempt with the k5...this was the best of about 8 images taken..tripod mounted..tried various exposures..this is a crop of a much larger image..basic astro-photography is a good grounding..I dont have complex equipment..just a Russian newtonian and a smart phone...amazing what can be achieved with a bit of perseverance..

That moon has looked wonderful these past few days and for all my clicking at it I never got one half as good as this - it's very good!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thankyou David...the light at this location could have made the difference...the air was very still on the day...atmospheric turbulence can make for very poor 'seeing' and blurred images... like most photography...right place and right time
