Velvia 50 does have some very contrasty deep tones, even more so when applying a polariser. I had a hard time scanning these images, but after some trial and error, I ended up with some acceptable scans.

Just looked at this photograph in 'large'. Wonderful range of deep tones and that hint of green and poles inclusion are magical. The light experienced must have been a joy. I love seeking out little treasures in landscapes such as this.

Grey: Thank you very much for your kind words! This mountainous plateau called Sylan is, like you also say, a really magical place. I am very much looking forward to my next trip there, probably in the summer when the snow has gone.
