Canal and Wall

Photo Information
Detail of the construction of the Lock Wall, with the water level dissecting the image and some handily placed leaves to add a bit of interest! Shot at Thorpe Rise on the Chesterfield Canal, near to Thorpe Salvin. The Chesterfield Canal is amongst the oldest in England and this stretch is spectacular, having a rise of multiple locks, some trebles and doubles, in a very short stretch of water. If you get the chance to visit, this is a photographer's paradise with all manner of industrial and natural features of interest.

Your trip to the Chesterfield Canal was very rewarding David. The birds are good but the simplicity of this one really appeals to me.
