A Peek at Grasmere

by davidstorm

I have had to work really hard on this one to bring out the shadow detail as the original image has such massive dynamic range that it was on the limit of what even the K-5 can retrieve.

As a result there's a little noise in shadow areas, but I can live with this.

I hope the result is worth it as I had originally discarded this image as being in the 'too difficult' pile.

K-5, DA 16-45.

Thanks Shaun, you cheeky beggar!!! Seriously, this is all thanks to you introducing me to this wonderful landscape and giving me the confidence to take pictures of it.

I would love to go back to see some of the Tarns and take some shots of these? Also Ullswater. We're going to Scotland in April with our Caravan (near Loch Lomond) - maybe you could have a trip up there?

I think you can transfer this to the 'successful' pile!

Delightful organic tones in this wonderfully interlocking set of slopes and ridges. Superb depth and detail. The gentle crepuscular rays add an extra charm to it all Exceelent photograph
