It was courting a female which was right in front of it. Unfortunately I was limited by the distance as I was behind a closed grilled gate and even for this shot I had to squeeze myself between people and do some acrobatic moves and squat and have my lens between the tiny opening of the gate lock, and get the shot.

I wish I could have got the whole of the feather display, but it just wasn't possible. Quite happy with this one though, as one of my first few ones

Oh, but I like that the feathers completely fill the top of the frame!

It's like it's his own personal "background", because it has obliterated the true background, which looks a bit dull anyway.
