The Ornery Owl
I then spotted this owl sitting in the grass, hissing at the swooping crow. At about 80 feet, I crouched, zoomed all the way to 135mm (haha, that's my longest focal length) and shot a few frames. I inched closer and took a few more. I did this until I was no more than 20 feet from him - quietly snapping shots, quietly inching forward. He was staring me down the entire time. The crow had stopped swooping and had gone to perch in a nearby tree to watch us both.
Finally, this old owl decided I had come too close and took off. He landed in the nearby tree with the crow to bicker some more. I walked away, happy with my good fortune.
